Who we are
Dr. Sahin help is a non-profit aid organisation from Cologne and was founded by Dr. Yavuz Sahin. Our mission is to provide clear and direct help for people in need, exactly where it is most urgently needed.
We build wells in Africa, distribute food parcels, support orphanages and schools and are also committed to helping homeless people here in Cologne. Every donation makes a difference!
Our goal is to give hope, bring back joy in life and show that acting together can change the lives of many people.

The founding of Dr. Şahin HELP
Helping others makes you happy (both the giver and the recipient). That is why I founded the non-profit organisation Dr. Şahin help.

Our vision
It all started with a dream: to build something big that would transcend one's own life. Not just to help a single person, but to strengthen communities, give hope and create a future.
In 2019, I decided to build a well in Africa as an expression of my gratitude for all the good fortune I have been blessed with in my life. What began as a small personal wish quickly developed into a movement. Friends, family and even patients joined in. One well turned into five.

Meeting Marc Gebauer
On this trip in 2019, I met Marc Gebauer. Even then, he was someone looking for the opportunity to bring his own aid projects to life with a big heart.
His support, network, and experience were a turning point: an idea became an organization. Marc Gebauer has remained a close companion, supporter, and friend to this day. His commitment has had a decisive impact on the development of our work.
Without the material and moral support of Marc Gebauer, this organisation would not have come into being in its present form.

Our principles
Since then, Dr. Şahin HELP has grown rapidly - driven by the goal of maximising transparency and ensuring that help reaches those in need directly.
A promise is at the centre of this:
- The organisational costs should not exceed 10 %.
- Over 90% of every donation goes directly to the people on the ground.

Our projects
- Well construction: More than 800 wells have already been opened, providing thousands of people with clean drinking water.
- Food aid: Every year, we distribute thousands of food parcels to orphanages and people in need. During Ramadan, thousands of meals are also distributed daily to people in need at dozens of distribution points.
- Orphanages: We are currently building our 12th orphanage - places of safety, protection and education for children who have no one else.
