How long is the warranty on a well valid?
Our oldest wells have now been in place for over 4 years and remain completely intact. Regular, simple maintenance ensures that they can be kept in good working order for the long term. To ensure future-proof use, the wells are also designed so that they can be upgraded to electric operation if necessary.

How deep are the wells?
In order to be able to use the water over a longer period of time, our boreholes do not stop after just 10 to 15 meters. The actual drilling depth is at least 30 to 35 meters and in most cases exceeds the 45-meter mark.

How easy are the wells to maintain?
We believe it is important that local residents are able to maintain their wells themselves using simple tools and with minimal effort. That is why we rely on a manual well system to ensure this simplicity. For larger issues, a supply team is dispatched to quickly refurbish the wells
in more complex cases. -
Are there any administrative fees for donations?
At Dr. Şahin Help, we work conscientiously according to the motto: "Every cent counts!" Despite any additional administrative, transaction, and accounting costs, we are committed to delivering 100 percent of your donation to people and children in need. Therefore, none of your donation is lost or used for administrative costs. These are covered separately by volunteers and supporters of this project. There is one exception for PayPal donations. PayPal retains 1.5% + €0.35 of your donation and therefore has no influence on our activities.

Can I also make a donation in cash?
We have set up a reception area for you at Neumarkt 1C, where you can visit us at any time and hand over your donation in person.

Will I receive a donation receipt?
For donations up to €200, simple proof, such as a bank statement, is sufficient to show that we have received your donation. For any amount above this sum, we will issue you with a donation receipt. To do so, please fill out the form and then click on "Submit."

"Helping makes you happy"
Helping others makes you happy (both the giver and the recipient). That's why I founded the non-profit organization Dr. Şahin help. When I was in Afghanistan with the German Armed Forces as a doctor, I was only able to do good on a small scale, but even then I felt that helping others made me happy.
"It's incredible how much the children in particular enjoyed it."
When I traveled to Senegal years later in February 2020 and opened the first well there, I was able to experience the joy and happiness of these people firsthand, and that was an incredible feeling for me. It was unbelievable how happy the children in particular were, because before they had to walk for hours just to get a little water. They couldn't believe that they suddenly had clean water in abundance in their own village.

Seeing the sparkle in these children 's eyes, feeling the happiness they experienced from something that we take for granted here, touched me deeply. I returned to Germany knowing thatI had to do more there! I told my family, friends, and patients about this amazing experience and was able to inspire them too. This made it possible to open many more wells in Africa and do even more good. I personally took the donations I had collected to Tanzania in July 2020 and to Senegal again in October 2020. In doing so, one thing became very clear to me: possessions alone do not make us happy. I realized that when you use your possessions to do something good for another person, without expecting anything in return, and give them something that makes them happy, only then do you experience true happiness and joy for yourself.

I myself have been very fortunate in life. Although I come from a modest background, I was able to attend school, study, and become a doctor.
That is why, in addition to building wells, supporting orphans is very important to me.
We want to give these children a home, and every child should have the right to an education. Together, we can give the gift of happiness andenable the adults of tomorrow to have a better future .
